"Woodpeckers"

This painting was a pure exercise in design emphasizing the interrelation that symmetry can offer. The two birds are obviously woodpeckers, a male of the left and a female on the right. The female was inspired by a J. J. Audubon representation of woodpeckers in one of his famous painting.
